Member Benefits From TAR

As a Texas Association of Realtors® (TAR) member, you receive Texas Realtor® magazine, enjoy effective legislative representation, and have access to TAR's preferred provider network, including a variety of low-cost insurance plans.  Below are just some of the benefits available.  To find out more, please contact TAR directly by visiting their web site at http://texasRealtors.com or calling them at (800) 873-9155.

  • Forms, contracts, and addenda

TAR has compiled a large library of forms, contracts, and addenda specific to Texas real estate transactions. Members can download and use ZipForm contract management software, access and print blank TAR forms, find Spanish translations of forms, and more. Visit the forms page.

  • Legal Hotline - 1-800-873-9155

The designated REALTOR® for each office determines who is authorized to call the hotline. In some offices, the designated REALTOR® may choose to designate only certain individuals (managers, for example) to have access to the hotline so that those individuals will be aware of any problem or legal question that an associate in the office may have or be facing. In other offices, the designated REALTOR® may wish to allow all the associates in the office to have access.

The designated REALTOR® is the REALTOR® who has been named as the person responsible for all contact with the association of REALTORS® and is named as the designated REALTOR® in the association's records

  • Texas REALTOR Focus e-newsletter

This timely, fact-filled e-newsletter is sent every week free via e-mail to all members who have registered their e-mail addresses with TAR. Texas REALTOR Focus is also available through the members-only TAR Web site. Subscribe here.

  • Disability insurance, vision, and prescription card - 1-888-479-2112

In October 1999, TAR introduced a new benefit for its members: income protection insurance. This group disability plan features low rates, simplified group underwriting, and does not require a physical. TAR members can choose either a 12-month or 24-month benefit period with monthly benefit amounts of $600, $1,000, $1,400, or $2,000. Those who qualify may be eligible for benefits in excess of these amounts and time periods. In August 2000, Association Benefits Group added low-cost vision and prescription card benefits for TAR members.

There is a new web site describing the medical and dental benefits available to Realtor® members; it's at http://www.associationbenefits.biz/.
